Adamawa Police Apprehend Suspect in Kidnapping of Three Brothers in Yola North

Adamawa Police Apprehend Suspect in Kidnapping of Three Brothers in Yola North

The Adamawa State Police Command says it has arrested a suspect linked to the abduction of three brothers in Yola North Local Government Area. An intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of Alhaji Adamu Yahaya of Hosere Jambutu on the heels of a ransom demand reported on June 16. The case was first lodged by the victims’ father at the State Intelligence Department. The three victims – Adamu Samaila Sultan (24), Bilal Abdurrahman (8) and Ya’u Sani Baba Iyali (10) – were kidnapped on June 12 and their abductors later contacted the family for ransom. The suspect is cooperating with investigators and efforts are now focused on rounding up other members of the syndicate. He will be charged to court once the investigation concludes.

Do you think intelligence-driven operations can really prevent future kidnappings in Yola North, or is more community cooperation needed?

This arrest shows intel-led raids can work, but we still need neighbours and local tips to spot danger early.

It's interesting that an intelligence-led arrest happened so quickly, but the report offers little on how the suspects were tracked.

I'm not convinced one arrest makes a dent; organized crime often adjusts its tactics after single operations.

Local neighbourhood watches should share tips directly with police to help speed up investigations and prevent future abductions.
