Zamfara Loses 456 Hajj Slots After Saudi Quota Cut
Saudi Arabia’s decision to reduce Nigeria’s overall Hajj allocation has forced Zamfara State to drop 456 pilgrims from the 2026 exercise. The Zamfara Hajj Commission says its quota fell from 2,207 to 1,741 pilgrims. The state government will soon begin airlifting successful pilgrims from Zamfara International Airport. Each pilgrim will now receive two large bags and one small bag—an upgrade from previous years. An enlightenment committee led by Shaikh Ahmad Kanoma will guide pilgrims on proper observance of rites according to the Sunnah. The commission remains committed to ensuring a smooth and successful pilgrimage for everyone involved.
