Udodi Onwuzurike Wins 200m Silver for Nigeria at Commonwealth Games
Nigeria’s Udodi Chudi Onwuzurike won silver in the men’s 200m final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The 23-year-old clocked a season-best 20.09 seconds. South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile took gold in 19.96 seconds, while Jamaica’s Christopher Taylor claimed bronze in 20.11 seconds. Onwuzurike held off Taylor after a strong bend and determined finish. His medal adds to Team Nigeria’s growing athletics haul, following Ezekiel Nathaniel’s gold in the men’s 400m hurdles.
