Lagos First Lady Calls for Unity and Faith in Eid-ul-Adha Message
Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu urged Lagos residents to embrace faith, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence during the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. She highlighted the enduring lessons of obedience and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. Speaking at the state’s Eid gathering at Lagos House, she reminded attendees that righteousness, integrity and compassion are vital in a diverse society. She described Lagos’s cultural and religious mix as a blessing that can drive progress when met with tolerance and mutual respect. The First Lady also encouraged parents to nurture discipline and good character in children, noting that the younger generation is the foundation for future development. She reaffirmed her office’s commitment to youth empowerment through education, mentorship and life-skills programmes. In closing, she thanked the Ministry of Home Affairs and community leaders for promoting harmony and prayed for peace, prosperity and unity across Lagos State and Nigeria.
