Wrestling Referee Hospitalized After Head Injury in Kentucky Match
During an Ohio Valley Wrestling Four Corners of Chaos match in Kentucky, referee Dallas Edwards was accidentally knocked to the mat. Wrestler Brendan Balling climbed to the top rope, but Tony Evans grabbed the referee and pushed him into Balling’s path. Edwards fell hard and struck his head. Witnesses say Edwards began convulsing on the ring floor. Evans dragged him to a corner before officials finally stopped the bout. Edwards’s girlfriend confirmed he is under hospital observation for a brain injury. Balling called Edwards “one of the best guys” in OVW and expressed hope they both recover. OVW plans to resume shows this Sunday.
