Harry Kane, Charlyn Corral Named Ballon d’Or Strikers of the Year

Bayern Munich and England captain Harry Kane won the men’s Gerd Müller Trophy at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony in London. He was recognised after scoring 61 goals for Bayern in all competitions and 12 for England during the 2025–26 season. Kane called it the best season of his career and thanked his teammates, support team and wife, Kate, for their roles in his success. His 36 Bundesliga goals also helped Bayern Munich win another league title, while he claimed the European Golden Shoe for a second time. Mexico’s Charlyn Corral won the women’s striker of the year award after an impressive campaign with CF Pachuca. She said she was proud to become the first Mexican player to receive the honour and hailed the progress of women’s football in her country. The awards were presented at the London Palladium during the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 26.
