Nigerian Arrested in Vietnam Over Alleged Laos-to-Hanoi Drug Shipment

Vietnamese authorities have arrested a Nigerian national over an alleged cross-border drug trafficking operation from Laos into Vietnam. Customs officers at the Lao Bao International Border Gate reportedly discovered about 2kg of suspected crystal methamphetamine and two suspected heroin bricks hidden inside electric water heaters and electronic components. After tracking the package for several days, investigators arrested the suspect in Ho Chi Minh City on August 9 while he was allegedly receiving the consignment. He is accused of agreeing to move it to Hanoi, while authorities continue to investigate other possible suspects.
