Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick as Poland defeated Romania 6-0 in the UEFA Nations League, becoming the oldest player to score three goals in a match in the competition. The Poland captain was 38 years and 42 days old when he completed his treble, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous record. Ronaldo was 34 years and 120 days old when he scored a Nations League hat-trick against Switzerland in 2019. Lewandowski’s goals came in the 24th, 47th and 86th minutes. The feat was his seventh international hat-trick and took his Poland tally to 92 goals in a record-extending 170 appearances. Poland benefited from Radu Dragusin’s first-half red card, with Piotr Zielinski and Jan Bednarek also scoring in the win.
