Malawi head coach Lovemore Fazili says his team will be ready for their opening game against Nigeria at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, despite a 4-0 loss to Ghana in a friendly match in Berrechid. The Scorchers were beaten by goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Sharon Esinam Sampson, but Fazili said the game gave his technical crew a chance to assess other players and settle on a stronger first XI before the tournament begins.
