Arumala Climbs to NPFL Top Scorer with 12th Goal
Joseph Arumala has claimed the top scorer spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League with 12 goals this season. His latest strike came in Ikorodu City’s 3-0 win over Kano Pillars at Onikan’s Mobolaji Johnson Arena. He finished from an Abayomi Ayodeji assist in the 29th minute. Arumala now leads ahead of Rangers’ Godwin Obaje and Abia Warriors’ Chukwuemeka Obioma, who have 11 goals each. Obaje was the NPFL top scorer in 2016, while Obioma won last season’s Golden Boot. Four players—Victor Mbaoma (Remo Stars), Chidera Michael (Enyimba), Uche Collins (Katsina United) and Daddy Abdulrahman (El-Kanemi Warriors)—are hot on his heels with 10 goals apiece.
