Tanzania Eases Visa Rules for Nigerians, Removes Invitation Letter Requirement
Tanzania has removed Nigerian citizens from its referred visa category, ending the requirement for an invitation letter from a Tanzanian individual, company or organisation before a visa application can be considered. Nigerians travelling to Tanzania can now use the standard visa application process through the official immigration portal or designated entry points. The change follows amendments published in Tanzania’s 2026 Government Gazette. The decision is expected to ease short trips for Nigerian tourists, business owners, students and investors. Stakeholders say simpler travel rules could also support stronger trade and investment ties between Nigeria and Tanzania.
