Ghana Forward Inaki Williams Retires from International Football After 28 Caps
Athletic Club forward Inaki Williams has announced his immediate retirement from international football, ending a four-year spell with Ghana’s Black Stars. The 32-year-old made 28 appearances and scored two goals after switching his international allegiance from Spain to Ghana in 2022. He represented the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup. In his farewell message, Williams said he was proud to have represented Ghana and grateful for the connection it gave him to his family roots. He will now focus fully on his club career with Athletic Club.
