Why Was Adam Warned About the Forbidden Tree but Not the Serpent?

Why did God warn Adam about the forbidden tree but not specifically about the serpent or Satan? The warning about the tree was clear: Adam was told not to eat from it. From this perspective, that instruction should have been enough, regardless of which creature or person later tempted him. I argue that no separate warning about any being in the garden was necessary until the woman arrived. Since Eve became involved in the act that brought death into human experience, this raises a difficult question about why she was presented as Adam's helper, despite also becoming part of his downfall.
