NFVCB Moves to Stop ‘Living in Colors’ Premiere Over Unclassified, Same-Gender Content Claims
The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) says it is taking steps to stop the planned Lagos premiere of the film ‘Living in Colors’. The board said its preliminary review of promotional material found alleged explicit scenes and content promoting same-gender relationships. It also stated that the film had not been submitted for classification, making its public promotion or exhibition unlawful. NFVCB said it has alerted security agencies and venue operators connected to the event. It warned that cinemas that host an unclassified film could face closure and licence revocation. The board added that it is preparing legal action against the studio, producers and promoters, ahead of the film’s planned online release on August 30.
