Rivers United Hit Five Past Kun Khalifat in Finidi George’s Biggest Win
Rivers United beat Kun Khalifat 5-0 in an NPFL Matchweek 4 match, their first five-goal performance in 95 games across all competitions since June 2024. Salman Abubakar scored twice, while Chijioke Mbaoma, Wasiu Falolu and Ekene Awazie added a goal each. The result was Rivers United’s biggest win since Finidi George took charge in July 2024. The Port Harcourt side moved into second place on 10 points, one point behind leaders Barau FC. The victory also followed comments from assistant coach Yemi Olanrewaju questioning the shortage of clinical strikers in the league.
