Zenith Bank Unveils Manchester Branch, Strengthening Nigeria’s Global Financial Reach
The Group MD/CEO of Zenith Bank, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, led President Tinubu’s delegation to open the new Manchester branch. Ministers Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Mr. Olawale Edun and Professor Taiwo Oyedele were also in attendance. Professor Oyedele congratulated Zenith Bank and said the expansion showcases Nigeria’s growing global influence. He noted that strong financial institutions are key to linking capital with opportunity. I have long argued that Nigerian state visits should include private sector leaders to secure deals. In the 1990s, President Babangida took top businessmen abroad. More recently, visits by Presidents Jonathan, Buhari and Tinubu have combined ministers, governors and investors to deliver real projects at home. President Tinubu’s UK visit follows this model. Discussions on infrastructure, security training and new investments are already under way. Lagos and other states stand to benefit from deeper UK–Nigeria partnerships.
