Victor Boniface has made an encouraging start to Bayer Leverkusen’s pre-season after an injury-hit 2025/26 campaign and a loan spell at Werder Bremen. The Nigerian forward scored twice within five minutes after coming on at half-time against SF Baumberg. He also impressed against Kickers Offenbach, creating Jonas Hofmann’s goal with a driving run into the box and contributing to the move for Leverkusen’s third. Boniface returned early for pre-season training, and his sharp finishing, movement and link-up play suggest he is working his way back into Leverkusen’s plans.
