Kompany Rejects World Cup Punditry to Recharge with Family

Kompany Rejects World Cup Punditry to Recharge with Family

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has turned down offers from English TV stations to work as a pundit during the upcoming World Cup. He explained that he wants to rest and spend quality time with his family in Munich. When asked if he’d appear on shows covering the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Kompany laughed off the idea, saying “No chance.” He joked that taking on pundit duties would spark problems at home. After a busy season that led Bayern to their 35th Bundesliga title, Kompany is focused on the German Cup semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen and the upcoming Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain. He also revealed that Jamal Musiala is close to full fitness ahead of these crucial matches.

Do you think skipping punditry now could actually help Kompany return stronger for Bayern after the World Cup break?

Definitely, stepping away from punditry gives him time to recharge and refocus, so he can hit the ground running post-break.

Hmmm, chill on that idea. Rest's cool, but punditry won't make or break his Bayern form.

Turning down TV gigs to recharge seems respectable, yet resting in Munich doesn't automatically translate to better results once he's back in charge.

I get wanting family time, but walking away from top studio spots during the World Cup feels like missing a rare career highlight.

Perhaps he could balance both by contributing short video segments or occasional commentary without full pundit duties, preserving rest and visibility.
