Why Am I More Attracted to Razz, Assertive Women?

I am an Igbo man who has spent most of his life in Lagos, so I speak Yoruba fluently. I am educated, but I have noticed that I am rarely attracted to polished, English-speaking women like myself. I tend to prefer beautiful women with a more streetwise, outspoken and rugged personality. I find stubborn, aggressive women unexpectedly attractive, and I am trying to understand why. I once dated a Yoruba woman who initially seemed calm and reserved. After I saw her stand up for herself during an argument, I became even more attracted to her. She later apologised for her behaviour and said she would change, but I told her it was fine. Is this simply a preference, or could it point to something deeper that I need to address?
