Remembering Archbishop Benson Idahosa on What Would Have Been His 87th Birthday
Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa would have turned 87 on September 11. He died on March 12, 1998, six months before his 60th birthday. Widely regarded as a pioneer of Pentecostal Christianity in Nigeria, he founded Church of God Mission International and Benson Idahosa University in Benin City, Edo State. He began ministry at 24 and was credited with helping to expand evangelical churches across Nigeria and Ghana. His teachings and ministry influenced several prominent Nigerian Pentecostal leaders. His son, FEB Idahosa, is the president of Benson Idahosa University.
