Lagos Expands Blue Line Service with Extra Trips and Earlier Start

Lagos Expands Blue Line Service with Extra Trips and Earlier Start

Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority has updated the Blue Line timetable to meet growing demand. From June 15, weekday and Saturday services will begin at 6:00 AM instead of 6:30 AM. Daily trips will increase from 90 to 94. Sunday services will also see two more departures, rising from 22 to 24 runs at consistent 30-minute intervals. Operating hours remain from 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM across the week. LAMATA says the changes will ease platform congestion, shorten wait times and help commuters beat peak road traffic. Since launching in September 2023, the Blue Line has carried over six million passengers.

Has anyone noticed how starting service earlier affects your morning commute on the Blue Line?

Have you noticed if those earlier trips actually shorten overall commute times or just shift peak crowds earlier?

They bumped trips from 90 to 94, but I wonder if these extra services will match actual peak-hour demand.

I no sure say increasing trips go fix wahala with overcrowding at rush hour.

Try catching the 6 AM train if you can beat the crowd and avoid delays during rush periods.
