Ikhana Calls for Probe of Gusau-Led NFF Board After Resignation
Former Nigeria defender Kadiri Ikhana says the resignation of Ibrahim Musa Gusau and other Nigeria Football Federation board members should be followed by a thorough probe of their four-year tenure. Ikhana argued that the board must account for funds received and explain Nigeria’s poor results during its time in office. He cited the Super Eagles’ World Cup failures, the struggles of the Flying Eagles and Golden Eaglets, and the Super Falcons’ failure to qualify for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup. The former Enyimba coach said the resignations should not automatically attract FIFA sanctions, maintaining that voluntary resignations are permitted under football statutes. He added that accountability, rather than simply accepting the resignations, should be the priority.
