Nigerians were among the 21 people who died in a devastating fire at a bed-and-breakfast in Delhi on Wednesday. The building in Malviya Nagar catered to patients and their relatives visiting a nearby private hospital. The blaze broke out on the ground and first floors, trapping guests on higher levels. Several people jumped from upper floors onto mattresses that local residents had laid out. Police, fire services, and volunteers rescued more than 40 individuals and took them to nearby hospitals. A local official said the fire may have started in a ground-floor restaurant. Indian authorities are investigating, and the prime minister offered condolences and promised assistance to those affected.
