Three Eerie Folktales People Still Share in Ikono, Akwa Ibom

I grew up hearing unusual stories from Ikono LGA in Akwa Ibom. Some residents see them as folklore, while others insist they have witnessed them. In Ediene, villagers say a stream sounds like a woman singing lullabies between midnight and 2 a.m. Along the Nung Ukim–Mbiafun Nkwere road, some okada riders claim their motorcycles often stall near an old palm plantation after 7 p.m. Traders also tell of a village market where palm oil or garri left overnight appears reduced by dawn, with money tied in leaves left behind.
