1 / 2

The Nigerian government received US Africa envoy Frank Garcia on his first official trip to West Africa. He began his visit in Abuja, meeting with National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye. Garcia also held talks with the Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani. The meetings reviewed progress under the US–Nigeria Joint Working Group and focused on expanding trade, strengthening security, and promoting shared prosperity. The envoy will travel to Côte d’Ivoire and Mali over the next few days. His visit follows a series of high-level US delegations aimed at boosting counterterrorism efforts and protection for vulnerable communities.
