DSS Director-General Honoured Again as ‘Friend of the Media’ by BON

DSS Director-General Honoured Again as ‘Friend of the Media’ by BON

Barely five months after the International Press Institute recognised him for championing press freedom, DSS Director-General Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi has received another media accolade. At the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards in Abuja, the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria named him “Friend of the Media” in recognition of his professional conduct since his August appointment by President Tinubu. BON’s steering committee head, Bayo Awosemo, accepted the award on Mr Ajayi’s behalf. The ceremony also celebrated media supporters, including the governors of Zamfara and Cross River states, the Information Minister Mohammed Idris, and former BON executive Obadiah Tohomdet. In December, IPI honoured Ajayi for upholding press freedom and improving the DSS’s relationship with journalists. At the awards night, Governor Dauda Lawal praised media professionalism and its vital role in society. The Information Minister commended BON’s ongoing efforts to honour excellence in broadcasting.
