Infantino Assures Iran’s Spot at the 2026 World Cup

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed that Iran will compete in the 2026 World Cup despite ongoing tensions with the United States. The governing body insists the tournament schedule, finalised in December, will not change. The 2026 World Cup kicks off on June 11, co-hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada. Iran will open its Group G campaign against New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15.
