My Miami to Bahamas Cruise Experience: Visa Hurdles, Airport Drama and Life Onboard
I travelled from Canada to Miami for a Carnival Conquest cruise to the Bahamas and back. Getting a Bahamas visa took about 10 days after I submitted my police report, bank statements, flight details, hotel reservation and cruise booking. The journey almost went wrong in Calgary. Because I missed the first flight in my original booking, the airline system cancelled the remaining flights. After several calls and discussions, I was rebooked. I also faced extra screening before my US-bound flight and was briefly told I could not board until the issue was cleared. In Miami, I joined a double-decker city tour and visited areas including Little Havana. I later boarded the cruise, which has 13 decks, swimming pools, a gym, sports facilities, a casino, live music, karaoke and several dining options. The cruise itinerary includes days at sea and stops at private islands before returning to Miami. Despite the travel stress, the onboard experience has been lively and enjoyable so far.
