Former England winger Raheem Sterling was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after his Lamborghini collided with barriers on the M3 in Hampshire on May 28. No other vehicles or injuries were involved. The 31-year-old, now at Dutch side Feyenoord, was detained at the scene and later released on bail pending further enquiries. Police said he faces charges including dangerous driving, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen. Sterling came through Liverpool’s academy before starring at Manchester City and Chelsea. He has 82 caps for England, is engaged with two children, and has spoken about significant personal pressures in recent years.

It seems odd that no other vehicles or injuries were involved, yet police focused on suspected drug driving right after the crash.
