Lagos Accounted for 51% of Nigeria’s 2025 Box-Office Revenue
Lagos generated ₦7.94 billion, or 50.78%, of Nigeria’s 2025 box-office revenue. The state recorded 1.28 million cinema admissions across 41 cinemas, accounting for 45.87% of total admissions. Abuja ranked second with ₦1.15 billion, followed by Rivers with ₦1.04 billion, Edo with ₦975.23 million and Oyo with ₦869.14 million. The figures suggest that cinema tickets and spending power were stronger in Lagos and the wider South-West than in most other parts of the country, according to industry data.
