Dr. Phil McGraw is an American television host and author best known for hosting the long-running talk show Dr. Phil. Born on September 1, 1950, in Vinita, Oklahoma, he holds a doctorate in clinical psychology but stopped renewing his licence to practise in 2006. He became widely known after appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the late 1990s. His own programme launched in 2002 and ran for 21 seasons, producing more than 4,000 episodes before its daytime run ended in 2023. He later launched a primetime show on Merit Street Media. McGraw also co-founded a telehealth platform, wrote several bestselling self-help books and hosts podcasts. He is married to Robin McGraw, with whom he has two children.
