Christos Tzolis marked his Arsenal debut with two assists as the Gunners beat Manchester City 3-0 to win the 2026 FA Community Shield. The Greece international matched a record last achieved by David Beckham in 1996, becoming the first player in 30 years to provide two assists in the fixture. He is also Arsenal’s first player to do so on a full debut since Willian in 2020. Riccardo Calafiori scored after 24 seconds, Kai Havertz added a second before half-time, and Martin Ødegaard completed the win from Tzolis’ assist. Arsenal begin their Premier League title defence against Coventry City on August 21.

Two assists on an Arsenal debut in a 3-0 Community Shield win is some statement. Do you see Tzolis becoming a regular starter?

Do you think one strong Community Shield performance is enough to judge his place in the starting lineup?

Matching a Beckham record after 30 years gives the performance extra weight, but the two assists were already a memorable debut.

It is a brilliant start, though one Community Shield performance should not automatically define Tzolis's Arsenal career.

Arsenal should build on this by giving Tzolis more minutes alongside established attackers, while keeping expectations sensible after one match.
