Edel FC have suspended plans to relocate to Enugu for the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season and will remain in Awka. The club’s team manager, Mike Chukwuebuka, said the side will continue to host its home matches at Awka City Stadium. The reported renovation of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu may have influenced the decision, although the club gave no official reason. Edel FC will regroup on Monday, August 3, to begin preparations for the new campaign. The club finished sixth in Conference A last season with 20 points, retaining its place in the NNL.
