He moved to the United States as a child and later earned a degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley. He is widely known for playing Harold Lee in the Harold & Kumar films and Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek reboot series. He also starred in the thriller Searching and appeared in television series including Selfie, FlashForward and The Afterparty. Cho has been married to actress and director Kerri Higuchi since 2006. They have two children and live in Los Angeles. His estimated net worth is reported to be about $14 million.
