Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested two suspected Boko Haram members during a clearance operation along the Mandaragirau-Kurtum axis in Borno State. The operation was carried out by soldiers of the 162 Amphibious Battalion with support from the Civilian Joint Task Force, local hunters and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria. The team moved through the Mandaragirau-Kurtum route and extended to the Nguma area as part of ongoing efforts to clear suspected terrorist hideouts and restrict insurgent movement. The suspects were identified as Sidi Shagari, 42, and Abubakar Sadiq, also known as Buba, 25, both from Birni in Biu Local Government Area. Recovered items included two mobile phones, three cutlasses, one dagger and N9,500. They have been taken to Abogo Largema Cantonment for further investigation.

Arrests are good, but these reports keep showing the same kind of security concerns in Borno.

People should still wait for confirmed details; two arrests alone don't tell the full security picture.

The important part is consistent patrols, local intelligence, and follow-up after every clearance operation.
