Why I Am Prepared to Face Persecution While Preaching the Gospel
I believe that following Jesus can involve shame, persecution and even danger. If my God-given assignment is complete, I pray for the strength to accept His will rather than be ruled by fear. Some people were concerned after I described encounters with hostility while preaching, including threats, an arrest and being attacked. They believe wisdom should make me avoid such risks. However, I believe that what appears foolish to people may still be faithfulness to God. I do not seek suffering or death, but I do not want fear to stop me from sharing the Gospel. The prophets, apostles and early Christians endured persecution for their faith, and I see their example as a call to remain committed to Christ. Many people accept that others risk their lives for family or demanding jobs. For me, the message of Christ is worth steadfastness, even in the face of opposition. God bless.
