Edo Security Corps Arrests Ex-Convict Over Fresh Robbery and Gun Possession

Edo Security Corps Arrests Ex-Convict Over Fresh Robbery and Gun Possession

Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps arrested 45-year-old ex-convict Owen Osas after a covert operation along Fishpond Road in Eyean, Uhunmwonde LGA. He was found with a cut-to-size single-barrel gun and admitted membership of the Eiye Confraternity. Osas, released from prison less than a year ago for firearms offences, is also accused of robbing a woman at her home around 8 p.m. the day before his arrest. The victim, Reginia Izy, identified him as her attacker. Deputy Commander Operations Richard Balogun said the arrest is part of an intensified effort to rid Edo State of criminal elements. Officers now combine overt patrols and plainclothes strategies to track and apprehend suspects.
