Atiku’s Aide Calls Tinubu a “Complete Failure,” Says Nigerians Now Prefer Buhari

Atiku’s Aide Calls Tinubu a “Complete Failure,” Says Nigerians Now Prefer Buhari

Demola Olarewaju, digital media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, sharply criticised President Tinubu’s leadership. He argued that soaring fuel costs and general economic hardship make people look back on the Buhari years more fondly. Olarewaju pointed out that petrol prices have jumped nearly tenfold under Tinubu, and he blamed the administration for worsening living conditions. He also denounced unreliable power supply, saying higher tariffs bring no value while electricity outages persist nationwide. On security, he warned that armed groups are operating in broad daylight and that many states are effectively “under siege.” He added that the president seems out of touch, noting improved power arrangements at the Presidential Villa contrast with erratic supply elsewhere. Concluding his assessment, Olarewaju urged Nigerians to vote out the current government in 2027, calling President Tinubu’s tenure a “360 failure” with no meaningful achievements.

It's striking that recent fuel price hikes are shaping opinions so much, rather than long-term policy outcomes under both administrations.

I'm not convinced people genuinely prefer Buhari again; hardship existed under both, and nostalgia often glosses over real issues.

A practical step could be coordinating community transport cooperatives to share costs and lobby state governments for subsidy relief.
