Enugu Names Lloyd Ekweremadu to Lead 2026 National Sports Festival Organising Committee

Enugu State has appointed Sports Commissioner Lloyd Ekweremadu as chairman of the 13-member Local Organising Committee for the 2026 National Sports Festival, tagged the Coal City Games. The festival is scheduled to hold in Enugu from November 27 to December 11, 2026. Former Olympian Mary Onyali and former Nigeria international Davidson Owumi are among the committee members. The state also named 21 sub-committees to oversee areas including accommodation, security, transport, media, medical services, marketing, volunteers and technical operations. Ekweremadu will also chair the Games Village Management Committee.
