Jigawa Names Roads and Facilities After First Lady as She Unveils North-West Community Food Bank

Senator Oluremi Tinubu today launched the North-West chapter of the National Community Food Bank Programme at the Government House Conference Hall in Dutse, Jigawa State. All seven North-West governors joined the First Lady: Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), Dikko Umaru Radda (Katsina), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto) and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara). Jigawa government honoured her by naming Gandun Sarki Road in her honour. She also commissioned the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic and Dialysis Centre, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy in Hadejia. The food bank initiative aims to tackle food insecurity by improving access to nutritious food for vulnerable households across the region.

True, having her name on our roads go boost community pride and spark plenty small smiles.

Redirecting praise to road names seems less urgent than tackling rural hunger through that new food bank programme.

Local community groups should track food distribution closely and volunteer to organize deliveries to underserved villages.
