18-Year-Old Dies After Falling Into Pond in Kano

An 18-year-old man has died after falling into a pond in Kofar Gabas, Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Kano State Fire Service personnel from the Danbatta station responded after the victim’s father raised an alarm at about 3:28 p.m. Rescuers recovered him from the pond unconscious, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. His body was handed over to the district authorities for burial arrangements. The Fire Service urged residents to be careful around ponds, waterways and other open water bodies.
