DICON-D7G to Launch Nigeria’s First Military Jetty, Creating Over 7,000 Jobs
DICON-D7G will build Nigeria’s first dedicated military jetty near Tin Can Island Port in Lagos. The facility is designed to boost defence logistics, strengthen local manufacturing and cut maritime costs. According to CEO Osman Chennar, this “strategic national asset” will improve how Nigeria sources, assembles and exports defence equipment. He says it will reduce reliance on external logistics and lower turnaround times. More than 7,000 direct jobs will be created once the jetty is operational. The workforce will include 2,000 retired senior officers and 5,000 skilled civilians—engineers, welders, drone specialists and logistics experts. Slated for launch in June 2026 under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the jetty will support production of small and medium arms, tactical drones, unmanned systems and MRAP vehicles. DICON-D7G has already begun manufacturing DG103 rifles in Kaduna for domestic and African markets.
