Army’s 3 Division to Begin Live-Fire Training in Miango Near Jos

The 3 Division of the Nigerian Army will hold its annual Range Classification Exercise from Monday, April 20 to Friday, May 8, 2026. The live-fire drills will take place at the Small Arms Range in Miango near Jos. This training tests marksmanship and firing accuracy for officers and soldiers. It uses live ammunition to maintain combat readiness to the strict standards of the Nigerian Army. Officials say safety is the top priority during the three-week exercise. Residents of Miango and surrounding areas are asked to avoid the drill grounds. The army also advises the public not to be alarmed by the sound of gunfire. The command is translating these notices into local languages to reach all communities. Major General Folusho Oyinlola thanks the public for their cooperation and support.
