Iragbiji Imam Urges Journalists to Verify Reports and Protect Public Trust
Dr. Mukhtar Adedimeji Raji, Imam of the Alhaja Wulemot Arike Oyetola Memorial Central Mosque in Iragbiji, has urged journalists and information managers to uphold credibility, accountability and professionalism. Speaking during the NUJ Osun State Council’s 2026 Press Week Jumat service on October 23, the cleric said media practitioners should verify information before publication and ensure their reports are fair, truthful and ethical. He also reminded journalists that inaccurate reporting can affect individuals, institutions and the wider society. The service formed part of activities marking the Osun NUJ’s 35th anniversary and was hosted by Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
