Sales Rep Alleges Funmi Awelewa Withheld Her Pay After Job Injury

A Nigerian graduate says she accepted a sales representative role for Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa due to the country’s economic hardship. She claims she was often sent on personal errands, including shopping, property inspections, and massages, tasks beyond her agreed duties. After sustaining an injury at the actress’s store, she asked for half her salary to cover medical treatment. “I’ve been working for you for 16 days… Give me half of my salary so I can treat myself,” she said. The actress allegedly refused to pay and blocked her. She reports having involved the police, but Funmi Awelewa has not publicly responded to the allegations.
