Inside the Nine-Month Build Behind BBNaija Season 11’s Lagos House

Big Brother Naija Season 11 returns on 26 July 2026, but work on the house began nine months earlier. Nigerian engineers, artisans and designers planned, sourced materials and transformed the space into a purpose-built set for the reality show. The Lagos house has 52 robotic cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades and 19 speakers. Its layout is designed around camera coverage, sightlines and the ways housemates naturally interact. This season's design follows years of changes, including the 2024 move that placed the staircase at the centre of the living room and relocated bedrooms upstairs. The production is executed locally, supporting more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs across construction, electrical work, decoration, catering, technical support and television production. The show will air from 7pm WAT, with a 24-hour live feed also available on its broadcast platforms.

I agree, the behind-the-scenes choices and skilled hands usually make a build story more engaging.

It is easy to focus on the contestants, but the engineers, artisans and designers clearly shape the season before launch.

True, but the contestants still determine whether all that preparation actually translates into a memorable season.

Nine months sounds impressive, though a purpose-built set alone will not determine whether the season is engaging.

A behind-the-scenes feature on the planning and materials sourcing could give viewers useful context before the 26 July return.
