Why Church Attendance Alone Won’t Secure Salvation

Why Church Attendance Alone Won’t Secure Salvation

I’m not against going to church or belonging to a denomination. What I oppose is self-deception in the name of religion. Church rituals and tithes can’t replace being born again. Jesus didn’t tell people to build temples or pay dues as His first message. He said, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is near.” If our attendance doesn’t lead to genuine repentance, it’s pointless. To repent means turning from sin and receiving the Holy Spirit to live a holy life. Yet too many congregations make us more selfish, proud, money-obsessed, or bitter. That is the opposite of true salvation. Beware of pastors who replay the Pharisees’ mistakes and produce no real change.

Instead of focusing on weekly attendance, start a daily habit of personal prayer and Bible reflection to nurture authentic faith.
