Kogi East to Get 20MW Power Boost as Steel Minister Launches New Mini-Grids
The Minister of Steel Development has launched a 20MW mini-grid project in Egume, Dekina LGA of Kogi State. As the largest mini-grid in North Central Nigeria, it is slated for completion within six months and will tie into the existing power network. He also commissioned two smaller rural mini-grids in Offa and Emewe Efopa communities. These installations are part of a joint effort by the Rural Electrification Agency and the Ministry of Power under the federal rural electrification programme. The projects are expected to improve electricity supply, support small businesses, boost productivity, and drive economic growth across rural communities in Kogi East.
