European Commission Opens 2027 Blue Book Traineeship Applications

Applications are open for the European Commission’s 2027 Blue Book Traineeship Programme. The five-month placement runs from 1 March to 31 July 2027 in Brussels, Luxembourg and selected European Union locations. Successful trainees receive a monthly living allowance of about €1,538 and gain experience in EU policymaking, administration and multicultural professional environments. Eligible visa, medical and travel costs may also be covered under the programme rules. University graduates with at least a three-year degree can apply. Eligible vocational education and training graduates may also apply for the 2027 intake. Applicants typically need proficiency in two EU official languages, including English, French or German. Non-EU nationals can apply for limited placements. Applications close at 10:00 a.m. Brussels time on 4 September 2026. Applicants should create an EU Login account, complete the online form and submit all required documents early.
