PSG coach Luis Enrique has raised concerns over the condition of the Parc des Princes pitch after extreme July heat and a fungal outbreak damaged the playing surface. The pitch was deemed unsafe, forcing PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Stade Rennais to be moved to Roazhon Park in Rennes. PSG plans to replace the surface before its next scheduled home match against AS Monaco. Enrique said the team must adapt to playing away but maintained that it would be unfair for PSG to play both fixtures against Rennes at their opponent’s stadium. He added that a high-quality pitch is essential to the fast, attacking football his side wants to play.
